I am a writer who is passionate about green design, travel and culture. I am also the co-founder of Under Solen Media, where I get to combine mine interests with the power of social media, be sure to check out what we’re up to!

I write for various blogs and travel magazines including Written Road, Been Seen and Matador Network. Along the way I’ve taken on a strong interest in environmental journalism, and hence,  green design. I speak French and Swedish and secretly wish I was moving back to Europe. This blog covers everything from travel to the environment to photography… the things that keeps the day interesting.

  1. I really loved your reminder to sign off, log out and write on paper! Thanks so much!
I am about to do just that after a month blogging, etc. during my trip to Brazil.

My recommendation for the day is this: take a moment this week to turn off your computer, be away from the sea of RSS feeds and emails and sit down with a pen and paper. Take time to write about your everyday surroundings and what you see. You don’t have to turn it into an article or a blog, this piece is just for you; a way to keep your creative energies going. Check back with me to let me know how it goes!

  2. Hi Anna,

I wanted to know more about your experiences in Guadeloupe. I am looking for a way to pay off some debts, while finding time to work on my writing. Is the program offered to Canadian citizens? Also, exciting to hear about WEND magazine, I have an interesting story when I was in India I could share,

  3. Hi Anna,

Teaching English in Guadeloupe is something I would love to do. I need to find out what documents need to be required and what steps need to be taken in order to achieve this dream. Thanks for your time.

  4. Hi Anna,
I am currently applying for the Assistantship Program as offered by the French Embassy and wanted to hear more about your experiences. I think I am choosing Martinique & Guadeloupe as my first choice! If you get a chance, I’d love to hear more from you as I am making my decisions and looking forward to being a part of this program.
    Thanks for your time!

    Sincerely,
    Marissa

  5. Hi Anna Brones,

I’m a French/American currently living in the South of France. I’m moving to Guadeloupe in the near future and came accross your site talking about English teaching there. I’m also a writer and an artist. Have you got any pointers about employment there? I deeply enjoyed skimming your blog and look forward to taking a more detailed look. Thanks

  6. I tracked you down via a June posting you wrote for Written Road. And finding your blog, I was surprised to find that a. I had left a comment for you here in the past and b. You work at Wend Magazine! Been meaning to pitch Wend for a while now. The reason I looked up your email was to simply say THANKS for the posting re: Matador sports editor. I have contacted them, belatedly, but would not have noticed this save for your Written Road post. Keep up the good work!
